Had to rebuild injecotor pump, put back on. Now having to prime fuel system. should the lever on the fuel pump should it have some sort of compression with the system not bleed or will it the lever be real easy to move.. It worked about a month ago when I put a filter on the fuel. Should the fuel come out of the injector lines at the injector pump.. Is there any easy ways to prime system.. Going to pull the cowling off to get to injectors and loosen them to get fuel.
You may have to roll the engine over half a turn or so until u can at least feel spring pressure on that little primer flipper.I d crack the return line from top of pump but doubt you’ll have much fuel comin from injector lines just by pumping the transfer pump.Once you know the injection pump is full then crack the lines at the injectors and turn the engine over.Should get fuel then.Usually works for me but pumpguy on here is the one that could tell better
What kind of injection pump? stanadyne db2? That one is easier to bleed than some others, mostly automatic meaning there's no bleeders on the pump besides the fuel return on the top. The fuel will only come out the injector lines after the injection pump is full and the engine is turning, and ON (pump not shut off). The priming lever on the transfer pump PULLS the diaphragm down, and an internal spring PUSHES the diaphragm and fuel out of the pump. Once you understand that much, you can figure out what's going on with the suction and pressure side of the transfer pump. If the arm is in on the high cam lobe, there will be only the external return spring pressure on the lever, very light, rotate the engine. If you're pulling a vacuum it will be hardest to operate the lever. If it gets pumped up to full pressure it will be light again. With a bleeder open and pumping fuel, it should have moderate pressure going down, and be slightly slow coming up.
Thanks to all on both post I put out.. I got her up and going again today. Finally got a little time
