Kawasaki k3v 112dt pump

looneytunes · 2019-07-19 16:15

This Kawasaki pump on the 6500hrs machine is causing the hydraulic oil to get hot. It's getting up to around 180 to 190 degrees. Would it be best to get a reman pump or replace the parts that's causing this? What particular part or parts that generally cause this bypass and heat?

I might first flow test the pump before deeming it bad. Other components within the system could be causing the heat load. It’s always best to do remain unless your confident in your ability to correctly do the job. If it is a worn pump you probably just need a “rotating group” which isn’t a difficult job

By having someone flow test you may save some money if it’s not the pump. And then work your way downstream in the system to find the issue.

Appreciate the info. Yea the pump is the first thing getting hot on the machine. It's got a new cooler and recently repacked the cylinders. I just got done replacing the brake piston seals in both drive motors. I have put seal kits in a couple of pumps and fill fairly confident in my ability to put the rotating group in. Where is the best place to get the parts? Thanks again for your time.
