Hi, I have a Kobelco SR60 Grand Beetle SN# YT C1 03257 Have owned for a while with minimum probs. regular services etc. Lately ; After 1/2 hours work or so goes into limp and shows E20 and E21 on ECU Won't stop on the key . With engine stopped and key on , "FC" light flashes continuously . If left overnight the machine starts and runs perfect again. Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Eric, e20 is a fault on throttle motor current, e21is a fault on throttle motor starting point. From what you are saying the throttle might just need to be recalibrated due to wear in throttle linkages etc

Thanks for that, not something I've had to do before, what's involved in the recallibrate?

Before trying to recalibrate it, first you need to remove the arm between the throttle motor and injector pump and check that the two ball joints on arm are free moving and not dried out. Make sure key if off any time you are doing anything to throttle motor or linkage, if you force the motor to move with key on it will break the computer, with key off motor with move and should have a slight resistance in it.

Removed linkage, one end dry and hard to move, lubed and refitted, noticed both lock nuts on linkage we're loose so adjusted back to wear marks, still have CPU light flashing and machine in limp mode.

Did you change the length of the bar or just tighten the nuts. If that arm has changed in length it would cause the throttle to do all sorts of strange things cos it moves the arm on the injector pump to within a half a millimetre of the stop position bolt and the max rpm bolt. If the arm hits either of those bolts it is programmed to jump away and shut down the throttle motor to save the cpu from damage. Setting the linkages to the correct length can only be done while calibration is being carried out.

My guess is that the linkage would have been changing length continuously due to both lock nuts being loose and machine vibration. Looked like linkage had more or less unscrewed it self to the point of coming apart, so adjusted aprox two turns to reconnect . Yeah stepper motor is moving continuously .

Hi Eric sorry been very busy. There is far too much info to write about calibration on your machine so ring me and I will talk you through it. Pm sent with number
