Komatsu D21P Hydrostatic steering problems!!

I have a little Komatsu D-21P hydrostatic dozer I bought and it is a low hr machine that runs and operates perfect other than the steering and brake. Does anyone know if there is any adjustments to the steering and brakes?

Are you sure it's hydrostatic? Hydrostatic machines don't have steering clutches and brakes. Steering is accomplished by slowing, stopping or reversing flow to the hyd. drive motors that power each track. There could be adjustments or calibrations though if it is hydrostatic.

Yes that’s the issue I am having. It’s 1 control does forward, backward and side to side. It has dry multiple disk steering clutches that are ppc controlled. Just wondering if anyone ever adjusted them?

the only way to adjust is to take off the lower back plate that is under the batteries, you will see a hump held on by 2 bolts take off then you will see a hex head its 17mm turn clockwise 1/2 a turn and see if that helps you in turning, now if track locks up very quickly once you pull on lever then back off 1/4 turn ,,, when you pull back on the lever the first half only disenguages the clutches the last half starts to pull on the brake band to slow the track down and once your at the very end of pulling on lever it should lock up track to make tight turns
