Great...... now they're doing this to our machines.... I would never buy a hybrid car...... they've got way too much perfecting to do to them to make them reasonable. ointhead

You may change your mind -- Volvo's hybrid truck (albeit different from what's probably in the NH and Komatsu excavators) has fuel savings of around 30-40%.

nice digger...but the fact is that this hybrid cost about 40% more than is counterpart pc200....you gonna save fuel if you calculate in years...but this saved fuel will be to paid what you have spend just for the "hybrid decals".....once it will be paid...you gonna think to change this same digger because from there your machine will have about 15000 hours.... this is what will happen of course if you have any badluck with it... nice technology....but at the cost$$

The machine has its uses. The more you swing the more fuel you will save. If they were to make a material handling package it would be a big step in the right direction. Even when not swinging though you are using less fuel due to two less cylinders than a standard pc200-8. I was involved in the assembly and trained on one of these machines in southern california, at the time the we had two out of the ten in the U.S. Not sure if they have added more. They really are awesome machines and the hybrid system in really interesting.

i"m for the technology...the idea for hybrid excavator is nice, it will evolute...but for now in my point of view it is just a luxury that you"re willing to spend.... this hybrid pc200 is way expensive compair to the pc200 standard...
