i have a komatsu pc 35 r8 that turns over but wont start ...checked fuel shutoff solenoid took it off and put power to it and its opening and closing as it should all fuses look to be ok and fuel filters and tank have been cleaned all fuses seem ok but if anybody knows which particular ones might cause issues im open to suggestions all help greatly appreciated
Sounds like air in the fuel system. Did you prime the system? Crack open a fuel fitting on the pressure side of the injection pump and see if you have fuel.
i have diesel coming to point 1 but cant get it to injectors its coming out again at point 2 but when i try bleed it while turning over cant get anything at injectors thanks for the reply
Make sure all the banjo bolts are clean. See if you can get fuel if you take the injector lines loose. Circled in green/blue.
banjo bolts are clean and no cant get diesel when they are loose ...gonna replace all the fuel hoses in case its drawing air somewhere
I'm not familiar with that machine but see it is a three cylinder. A lot of the older Komatsu mini excavators had Yanmar engines in them with electric fuel pumps. You also might check around the fuel tank for an in line fuel filter.
seems to be yanmar yeah..do the electric pumps give up ? there are too inline filters on this system but ill replace them with the lines tomorrow and keep you posted thanks for the help so far
Obtain the inline filters from a Komatsu dealer if you can. What you have will look like what is used in the automotive world which have paper or cellulose elements. The original in line filters from the manufacturer had brass strainers inside and could be blown clean by putting air pressure into the outlet side. The cellulose filters will swell when water hits them and choke off the supply of fuel enough to do what your engine is doing.
so changed all the lines and filters today and im now getting fuel up as far as injectors but still drawing a bit of air somewhere filter housing is in bad shape im thinking maybe there
took fuel shutoff solenoid off again today and replaced with a new one to see ....the spring loaded valve pulls on when i put ignition on but it pops out again right away should it not stay in for a couple of seconds at least ?
so its a fault in the wiring from the fuel shutoff solenoid plug ill have to trace it back and see if i can find a break in the line or bad fuse
cab anybody tell me if i wire the red hold wire to ignition will that solve my problem i cant trace or find a fault in the wiring
