looking at some older 200 size komatsu machines, are these machines that are equipped with a komatsu s6d102e just a rebadged 5.9 cummins. ?? or are they different, will parts change out with the 5.9
The engines were Cummins 6BT5.9 models built under license by Komatsu. I haven't worked on one in years but in those days Cummins would not sell parts for those engines. You had to have a serial number and at least a CPL number which there was none on those units. Maybe someone has figured it out today but you better be sure. Komatsu wants a lot more money for parts than you would have to pay Cummins for them.
