Large front shovel machinery

anyone has experience with changing large front shovel stick cylinder as Komatsu PC3000/4000 or hitachi 2500? what kind of lifting tools are used for cylinder changing?

    Which cylinder exactly are you talking about. The stick cylinder or the levelling cylinder.? Stick cylinders are relatively easy to R&I provided adequate lifting equipment is available, the levelling cylinders not so much.

    That is the cylinder what i meant, it is stick cylinder.

    OK, so you only have a stick cylinder. Some machines of that size class have both a stick cylinder and a levelling cylinder. See the photo below of a Hitachi EX3600. On that machine the stick cylinder was relatively easy because there were factory lifting points welded to the bottom side of the boom that could be used to attach hoists. we used powered hoists for faster removal /installation of that cylinder. The levelling cylinder was a different thing altogether. It was hidden under the boom and no lifting point for that one. We manufactured a piece of tooling to R&I that cylinder but you need a crane. Here is the boom (on the right) as it came from the factory with the stick cylinder already mounted to it. Here is the installation process for the levelling cylinder showing our home-made tooling.
