Link Belt 2700 Travel trouble

Skytraker ยท 2013-02-20 07:14

We have a link belt 2700 that has travel issues with the left side.It seems like it trys to go but not so good. We swapped travel pilot lines and the trouble stays on the left side. We swapped the travel lines at the swivel joint and got the left side to work and right side dead. If all is hooked up correctly and we dead head the stick function we can get left side travel. Seems like a pump stroke issue, but is it in the valve or the pump governor? Thanks

With everything connected normally have you checked the case drain for excessive fluid on the weak drive? Start at one end and work your way down the line. Checking this and that can sometimes confuse things.

Sorry. The first thing I checked was case drain. It is very much the same from one side to the other. Not excessive at all. That's what brought me to pump stroke issues(along with the other info above)

Did this all of a sudden happen or is there some information leading up to this? example new pump installed,etc.....

Sounds like the rotating joint seals have gone bad.

most possibly it is the pump stroke issue.

Do some cycle time tests on the rest of the dig circuits to see if any of the rest are slow. That would isolate pumps or travel.Another simple test for the center joint is to pin one track and lift the other off the ground and actuate the one that you pinned. If the lifted one moves then you have found the problem. Also check the final drive oil for metal.Could be a sheared spline on the sun gear.
