Hello, I have a 1989 555c backhoe that has extreme slop in the front bucket lift lever, is there adjustment on the linkage or are the bushings/ bellcrank probably worn to the point of needing replaced. Can’t get a real good look but doesn’t seem to have the same throw as the dump actuator
Looks like if it is a 2 spool valve there is linkage rods. If it is a three spool valve there is a series of cables. Here is a pic from the parts book.
Usually there's lots of worn pins that make linkages sloppy. You can replace the pins and get it tighter, but the holes are probably worn some also, so you're looking at drilling them out and making bushings, or welding up and redrilling, etc. The pivot can be bushed with aluminum strips formed into a bushing, even pop can rolled around the pin. The JBweld for the fixed part of the linkage. If there's enough room, you can drill out the holes and use larger pins, usually not a lot of extra material in those places.
