I'm hoping someone on these forums might be able to clear something up for me... Essentially, I'm looking to confirm if pipeline welders (guys who weld gas pipe) are members of IUOE Locals in NYC and on LI (locals 15 and 138). I haven't been able to find much out in the welding community about this, and so I was just thinking there's probably 15 and 138 Operators on here that might know if it's true or not. Thanks!
Local 15 welds gas in NYC if the installing contractor is a mechanical contractor fitters weld the final connection to the building. IUOE Local 15 is in Flushing, Queens, call them and they are very accommodating.
