Seeing burnouts last post i thought to my self and said i might as well ask. so here i go. Does anyone know of camp jobs in canada their everywhere its just that i need to know poeple out thier to get to the places. ive been been on hold for kiewit for 6 months now and im starting to get impatien. i just got word that the phase on the cloudwork project i going to start on has been put off till next summer and i want a job out thier bad.my uncle who lives in canada just left thier to work as a foremen to a local contrator near him. hes looking of a job for me somewhere in a camp. in the last 3 years hes work on that project in B.C. one in alberta making pads for the drillers and i think thats what bigpolerbear on youtube is doing on his latest video. and he also worked on a project in bay james quebec. and nothing so he told me to ask around. So anyone know of any camp work in canada. i just got my cards from the CCQ for everything but excuvator. and im going to join the FTQ this week so im ready. SO ANYONE GOT ANYTHING. im looking for something like work 40days and then two weeks off most places work like that im told.
so are you looking to run equipment? because you might just have to take what you can get and then work your way up to running machines, you just have to get your foot in the door and start proving your worth and making connections.. keep an eye on infooil and infomine websites there are lots of jobs on there, I gather that you are looking at oil industry work, but there are lots of camp mining jobs out there too.. something to consider I dont work in the west but I understand that there are some training requirements you need to do before they will even consider you.. I think first aid/cpr, tdg/whmis, and some oil industry training modules. someone that knows more about this can elaborate.. good luck in your search, its a good time to be looking for work
i run equipment all the time spend all day pushing with a d8t but over here in new hampshire thiers no pay. ill find something sometime i talked to my uncle we might go to a big housing devlopment in alberta thier looking for excuvator operators id be running a loading shovel 600 or bigger i hope it works uout
Have you asked your union, they could help you out to find work in Quebec, if you have your heavy equipment CCQ cards as a Journeyman???... They told me to see them if I ever ran out of work. Good luck catd8t
