Looking for Kubota V2607 engine for Kubota U55

This may be a little long winded.....I have a good friend who has a landscape design and install company and I do a lot of work for him, he has a Kubota U55 that he uses for some jobs that aren't that big. His guys tipped it on its side last Friday, nobody got hurt thankfully, they turned the key off, but it did start to race, because I believe it was running on the motor oil that was leaking into the cylinders, and blew most (if not all) the oil out of the motor until it died. They got it back up, let it sit over the weekend, changed the oil, and air filters, and ran it a bit until it started to miss and smoke about an hour later. He brought it to a local heavy equipment mechanic and apparently the crank is shot, it's blue. Needles to say he needs a motor or someone to rebuild this one, does anyone have any suggestions? I looked online, as did he, and apparently that V2607 is a tough one to find. Here are the numbers off the motor Type - V2607-Dl-EU6 Family - 8KBXL02.6ECD Engine disp - 2.6L It meets 2011 interim teir 4 Emmisions

Any chance he had Kubota Insurance?

If he did he would be sitting pretty....unfortunately he bought it used a little more than a year ago. He's checking with his insurance co but I imagine he's going to be into it for $10gs at least. Hopefully he had some kind of insurance on it other than theft...

Inland Marine should cover the engine in this circumstance. Just fwiw, Kubota will insure used equipment, I recently paid off my 057-4, policy is $700/year.

Try Capital Engine Co in Ohio 740-964-0089 we have bought several Kubota engines off them.

Thanks for the help. He is going with a new engine from his Kubota dealer. A couple places wanted between $5400 - $5800 to rebuild it and that didn't include a crank, which he needs, he can buy a complete new motor for $7100. Kubota just wants him to send the block back, but he needs to punch a couple holes in it so it's unusable since it's a intrum teir 4 engine. He got the best news today though, his insurance will cover it, so he's lucky there....
