Kenworth build off road trucks. In the old days you just buy a Mack and be done with it.....

get some army surplus m920's and try them out. Alot of times they are 15 years ols with 10k miles on them when the government lets go of them.

Another question is why the current trucks are failing/not holding up? Is it the trucks themselves or the condition they operate in?

KW C500 with the HD Cab. If it was me, i would find some older ones and re-life them so as to avoid current emission standards. I'm all for cleaner diesel exhaust but this is getting silly. Find some logging trucks with the right rearend and frame specs. Take off the log bunk and replace engine and trans to suit. (Cat/Cummins, Manual/Auto). I wouldn't be surprised if Contract Logger knew where every C500 log truck in the PNW was. M920 aren't heavy enough for this. Anything without planetaries is a step backwards for this application.

That's the truth, nothing like an old Mack off road!!

X2. Kenworth is about the only MFG that will stall build you a truck to DO WORK. C-500's with the HD cabs i think would be perfect in this application. Plus since your off road only you could get away with complying with a lesser emissions standard
