Its a toss up between putting these here as trucks, or in other construction equipment as whats on the trucks. :beatsme So there here to show different combinations and wheel set ups as used in the UK. I know it causes a lot of as in other parts of the world some of these would be classed as overloaded.

I see people over there also have no fear! Or they do not understand what happens when a 100,000lb. vehicle bumps a 3000lb. car.

That last photo is scary. The rear tires on the trailer are over into the other lane next to the car and the tracks of the machine being transported are hanging over the deck.

Nah, plenty room there, tis normal road space for us over here, in fact its rare to see some space in the lane near to us

lots of room it only get a bit tight when its two trucks side by side and then a car

Ah yes Graham thats with the car in the middle lane

It would be a little wild driving around those trucks especially with the steering on the wrong side in all seriousness they don't look overloaded to me. I'm guessing all the axles are dual tire or more? Neat stuff almost don't look right those little tractors pulling those big loads. (course I'm used to a longnosed pete or western star pulling up) Nice stuff anyway atlasrob. Good pics as always.

Thanks Rob Those trucks are a lot shorter to haul the same load. Our federal bridge law would never allow that, but when there is not much room to spare, it would sure be nice to not be 105' long just to haul a load.

stretched I'm sure some of you will not have seen stretched lowloaders not stretchable just looooooog with a double dolly behind a 4 axle unit, pity the luggage rack got in the way

We do it big! That really is cool stuff! But we here in the U.S. do things big. Yeah, that's another truck pushing from the rear!

    Lanes look pretty narrow

Is it just me or is the lead truck tri-drive. Can't imagine that truck being too nice to drive tires.

  12. #12Dualie2008-12-28 03:30

I have seen the lead truck in a push pull setup that had 46,700 lbs on the drivers lay down 8 black stripes for a mile and half pulling a grade. the truck in the rear wasnt laying down stripes its was laying down TRACKS it had 36,000 lbs of queen mary weights on the back.

Ah found a vid from down under http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nycqfEpxDc not to mention the bitchenest heavy haul fleet i have ever seen

Is me or dose it look like the lead Mack is spinning his drive tires? Look at the smoke in the video right around the 32 second mark and the marks his tires are leaving on the ground. Could be wrong.:beatsme

  15. #15Dualie2008-12-28 16:58

yes it is, even with 30,000 lbs of "queen mary" counterweights over teh drives for traction

  16. #16AtlasRob2008-12-31 13:03

I've never done a tandem pull or push so I really shouldn't comment, but is that spinning not down to the front driver being a little heavy on the gas ? would a little easing off not cure the spin without hindering the pull ? Having said that I dont suppose the front driver knows if only he is spinning, or if his mate is also.

i hate to say it but we here in the States dont do squat in terms of heavy hauling compared to what Europe does..... dont get me wrong i like the American hauling and all but Europe has our doors blown off. and im actually surprised to not see a truck pushing as well in the video to be honest HERE IS A PICTURE OF SOME REAL HEAVY HAULING! this is in Italy Note: picture is not mine, it is taken from a buddy on another website
