Hello I'm am in need of some assistance in repairing our LULL. Its a 2003 1044C-54 Serial 18942 3700 hours (sat for a bit outside) Upon start up cold it has slow and very limited use of the hydraulic functions. The boom will go up slow and if you increase the RPMS on the engine, it will cut out the hydraulic pressure till you let it idle again and then it will go up slowly. The frame tilt is real bad. You barley crack the lever to get any movement at all from it. the problem straightens out as the machine warms up. We noticed it a little in the summer but it has become a big problem in winter At the test ports, It has 460 psi on the pilot circuit That stays constant with the engne idling or reving up If you bottom out a hydraulic lever you will get 2800 lbs of pump pressure If you are lifting the boom, the pressure will read 1600 or so and drop right off if you rev it up. We removed the high pressure filter to check for restrictions but found none. The next location the pilot lines run to is the selector valve which directs the fluid to the control manifold. There are 2 coils on the selector valve. I did see a post awhile back of someone with a similar problem where a member advised to OHM the coils out as they were a common problem. Any thoughts on where I should check for pilot pressure next? At the selector valve or at the control manifold? Any help would be appreciated
Sounds like the pump is starving for oil. Clogged screen, collapsed inner liner in a hose, wrong oil viscosity or suction side filter. Pump sucking air in shaft seal?
We cleaned suction and return filter Worked good all day today! They didn't seem real dirty Must be enough to restrict flow Cold Thank you!!
