today my cat stopped working , there is diesel leaking from the injection fuel pump , when i manually pump with the small fuel pump on the engine. as the leaking is on the side ,between pump and engine. probably i must demount the pump. please advise if i can remove the pump without the danger of changing the injection time ?
its leaking diesel on the bottom of the hydraulic pump ,how is this possible ?
now we know , there is a little hole ,and when there is leaking diesel the pump is broken.
anyone can give m a suggestion how to put the new pump back ? there are 2 positions according the shaft ?
Wow.!! U must of used some serious pry bars to get that off.. The drive shaft is locked inside the pump housing w a C clip.. Just cut ur losses and get the drive shaft outta the engine and take or send the whole mess to a fuel shop, where they have all the specialized tooling & knowledge to take it apart & reassemble it properly.. DO NOT try to stick the shaft in & start it.. u can SEE the spacers & clips thru the hole.!! IF U DO, ur looking at a 1900.00+ bill..
when i removed the 2 bolts holding the pump it just came off easy . almost fall of itself. i will remove the shaft ,is it bolted at he other side ? should i open a cover plate ? monday i go to a pump servis hope they can repair the pump do you know the timing settings to put the pump back ?
this is how it looks , only i cant pul the shaft out , should i turn the engine a little ?
just paid for a repair shop manual ,but no download yet ,just hope its not a scam https://www.aservicemanualpdf.com/d...fix-7ml-service-repair-manual-7ml00860-and-up
Caterpillar M315's installed C3054 engine that's similar to Perkins 1104. These attached files are Perkins 1104 manuals, hope to helpful.
thanks , amazing the help on this forum
here is the next part , i hope someone else in the future can use this. and dont make same mistakes .... according manual similar i should remove the 4 bolts . also the timing must be on the bottom for stanadyne pumps. in the manual is written remove fan and front house . only removed partly the metal protection cover of the fan and the water pump . was easy to do.
anyone recommend a store for refurbished remanufactured pump or 9923 ??? my pump cant be repaired
There is a name plate in the inj pump.. use THAT # to find a replacement.. CAT didn’t make the pump..
according inter net should be ref nr DB4 5255A hope this helps
Screw the internet.. what’s the # off YOUR PUMP.. just trying to help u.
pump is at the repair shop now they just called and said impossible to repair
found this in the usa, is it a reasonable price ?
That 900.00 is a good price & if yours is unrepairable, which by the way is bs.. it’s an excellent price.. U have to find out if they want your core.. if so, you might get hit w another 900.00 bill.?? cuz yours in “unrepairable”..(not a good core)
U have to find out WHY it’s no good.?? Is the H&R seized.? Is the housing cracked.? It might b expensive to build & not cost effective.. but there’s no such thing as “un-repairable”..
what is exactly the core ,the main shaft or the rotating parts ? the shaft is damaged at the end , although with a brush could be polished , and if i look inside i see all kind of broken little parts. eg from the front of the pump.
The core is YOUR WHOLE PUMP.. They might want your pump, to see if they can build it & make more money.. after they sell u their pump.
[QUOTE = "thepumpguysc, post: 924832, üye: 15159"] U NEDEN iyi olmadığını öğrenmelisin. ?? H&R ele geçirildi mi? Muhafaza çatlamış mı? Oluşturmak pahalı olabilir ve uygun maliyetli olmayabilir .. ancak "onarılamaz" diye bir şey yoktur .. [/ QUOTE] Absolutely I agree. With the right service , everything can be repaired.
collected the pump , its damaged ,so now buy new pump or try to return excavator ,what to do ? are the cat m315 normal reliable ? or a future nightmare ?
in the manual we can loosen this screw , i hope we can loosen this screw lift the beam . close the screw load on a trailer .then lower the boom same procedure .it seems we have 2 cylinders so we must do simultaneously the both valves at same time ? any advise ?
nothing happens when i turn this screw in
