So I'm looking at purchasing a 97 madill 3200a with around 30k hours on it. It's Cummins powered and besides the undercarriage and a few minor leaks seems to be in good shape for its age. I'm just wondering if there are any key points for this specific machine or bunchers in general?. The koering saw has a very little amount of play and the motor is apparently new. Really any inside or advice would be appreciated!.
There are usually a few machines available at the same time, what are your options/ comparisons? 30K hours is certainly higher hours for expecting a machine to walk reliably around in the woods with.
Sorry, busy day so I was a bit vague on the details... this unit is to clear my 80 acres which has about 1000-1200m3 of merchantable timber on it and some secondary income of poplar/aspen. It will be used to log/clear my land and then most likely sold or sent to auction if it seems likely not to go for scrap value. The unit is $15,000 and is 20 min lobbed ride from home. The closest comparable unit is in better overall shape but is 20k and a 13 hour lowbed away.
