Hey guys, I was checking out McAninch's website and happened to see their 'Services' page and after reviewing it a question arised. Primary Services Earthmoving and Grading Underground Utility Installation Site Consulting and Management Design Review and Budget Development GPS-Verified Topomaping Subcontract Services Trenching Boring Paving Landscaping Erosion Control My question being, do they perform those subcontract services, or is that what they subcontract out to other contractors? Also, has anyone ever seen them complete any bridge work?
It means that they sub themselves out for those services.
As in they perform them, correct?
Yes, they will perform those services for other contractors.
Thanks rino! Will they complete them on their own projects where they are the prime contractor?
Nolan, yes they use them on their sites. The reason for offering it as a sub contract service is to offset their ownership costs. The trencher and boring are something you wont need on every job site. Rather it is something you want to own for yourself. A lot of companies that do bores and trenching work tend to charge a high dollar figure. This way, you charge the same number that sub would, and pocket that money. Then you sub contract that service out and do the same thing that the other sub would do.
We are based out of the same city that McAninch is and they do not do the things listed under sub work they simply act as a prime contractor and hire subs to do that work for them while adding a percentage to cover their costs, they dont own any pavers, directional drills etc and we have worked with some of the subs they use for these things. Most of the time when it comes to paving they are a grading sub and the pavers are prime
Thanks for the information guys.
I don't mean to hi-jack your post in any way, but while you guys are on the topic of McAninch I was hoping maybe someone out there could help me out. I've been searching all over the web for some pictures of McAninch's lowboys (especially their Kenworth T800's and Trail King lowboys) with zero success with the exception of two very small pics that roll-by on their website. If anyone would be willing to post, PM, or email me pictures of their trucks it would be very much appreciated ! (or if this isn't the correct part of the website to post this request on please let me know so I may remove/re-post it elsewhere) Thanks for help you guys can send my way.
