Metal in hydraulic system

So we have found 3 small pieces of steel stuck in hydraulic couplers and a spool valve of our hx330. Dealer pointed blame at crusher bucket, I pulled the motor apart and it is pristine, what would be your next place to check? Pump on the machine? Machine also runs a breaker

Might have just been some junk left in the manufacturing process of the crusher bucket and plumbing??? Just as a test you might hook the pressure side of the breaker up and run a couple gallons into a clean bucket at full speed.. warning make sure you contain the hose to the plastic bucket and a splash guard!!! not that this will really tell you anything if there is suck a small amount of metal... but you never know Also how is the machine plumbed? separate return for the breaker straight to the tank... One other thing... you mention metal in the spool... which side of the spool... gonna assume the pressure side to the aux...?

Good day Tyler Finding the source is of the utmost importance if you are to prevent futher damage as Rosill points out look at te spool which caught those parts it is the best witness you have - the spool will only provide fluid to one circuit and that must be the source. Kind regards Uffex

Metal was in the pressure side of the spool, it was holding the aux circuit open, breaker would not stop. Other pieces got caught in the hydraulic hose quick connect on the return side. I have ran the crusher bucket probably 100 hours with no issues, on and off over nearly 2 years, unlikely to be something in there from manufacturing. The machine is plumbed from the factory for the breaker, has valves that you set on the machine computer to switch to one way hydraulic flow, return to tank.
