Michigan 175b Slow

We bought a 175B Michigan Clark wheel loader S/N: 427C167, and we have used it a little bit around farm in the last 3 years, but now we started it today after sitting for 5 months and are having trouble getting it to move. The brakes seem to be releasing as it will free wheel down a hill if you let it. We just got it in the shop and noticed a puddle of oil on the floor as well, seems to be coming from up near the torque converter housing/pumps. Seems to me like the torque converter might not be working properly, any advice on what we should do, or look for?I can get you more information if you need.

I own a Clark 125A 3 and have a shop manual for a series C-5000 torque converter. It includes a section on trouble shooting. Is your machine slow in all gears both forward and reverse? On my 125 you check the oil in the transmission hot at idle. The oil is common between the transmission and torque converter.I also have a maintenance and service manual for a 3420 series Clark transmission.I also live in Saskatchewan so you could send me a private message and then you could contact me by phone if you have no service manuals for your machine.

Our payloader seems to be slow in all gears, its slightly better in reverse though. For some reason I can't send private messages, maybe I am too new of member. my email is michael theaker @ gmail .com , without the spaces, if you wouldn't mind shooting me your number, my father would be the one to phone you, as I've been making this thread for him. Thanks Wrangler

Try to see exactly where the leak is coming from. There is a drain b ack line from the bottom of the converter back to the trans sump to return internal leakage back to the sump, there could a couple problems, there could be blockage in the drain back maybe a hose liner old and has come loose or you have a large internal leak that would allow the case to fill up to the bottom of the flywheel housing and come out between the flywheel housing and the converter case, or splash oil around the starter. Another place to look is at the breather which is only a one way check valve to allow air into the converter so you don't get a vaccumm in the converter which possibly suck in dirt, that breather may have been changed to a two way breather by mistake or by lack of research on the part number, or the check valve part plastic bits have come apart. The other thing is change in machine operation to a more full operation with higher RPM forcing internal leakage up enough to overcome the drain back line that is a gravity feed.
