Have a Mitsy S4S turbo with over 20k hours throwing oil out the front. Probably just needs a seal but I am concerned about what condition the sealing surface is in. Looked at some pictures of the front pulley 32A20-02203 and it looks like it might have a sealing surface but also it looks like the seal itself comes with some sort of sleeve. Anybody done one of these and know what is really in there? Anything need pulling or chiseling?
Well, to anyone wondering, it was definitely a thinner seal to make up for the extra thickness of the wear sleeve. The wear sleeve goes over the seal surface on the front pulley. Some heat helped it go right on. The pulley was slip fit on the shaft. The nut was a real pain in that it was 46mm on the flats and I had to borrow a socket and 1" gun to drive it off and on. Was not expecting that on a 60 horsepower engine.
