Got a new job today and got a few pics of the excavator i'm running. It's a 60ft long reach Link Belt 3400. It ain't the prettiest but she gets the job done. i also run a 966D Cat loader and a powerscreen screen machine. i'll have pics of those later on.
Congratulations on the new job, man. What kind of work are you doing with that long reach?
thanks. we own our own little sandpit that supplies sand to the local concrete pipe company. all i do with the long reach is dig the sand out of the lake and pile it up so we can screen it the next day.
sounds like fun. how deep is the lake? how far down do you reach to excavate the sand? Are you the owner of the lake?
last time the local dive team was out to practice they said on average 30ft deep and i dig as deep as i can reach and as far out as possible. the land is my grandparents but we own all mineral rights.
here's some pics of my loader and screen machine. and some of the excavator. the ones of the track are just to show how close i get when i dig.
the screener is a 1997 Powerscreen Commander 408.
Old school 966
hey that's new to me. lol it's so much better than the old j model 950.
cell phone pics FTW! congrats bud
thanks i thought they weren't too bad for a spurr of the moment thing.
Daugherty102, nice work. Be carefull digging that close to the edge of the water. I had an experience once when I was making a pond bigger that had abought a foot and a half of clay over sand. As I was digging the water swirling at the edge undercut the sand and I didn't realize it until my Deere 690 started to tip. That made me pucker I backed out of there fast!! Finished the job but kept my trucks to the rear and didn't get as close to the edge. Just my 2cents worth.....Frank:usa
yea that long reach has actually been dumped in the drink before. it was completely submerged needed a new engine and two super wreckers and a D8 to tug it back out. oh and this happened on Jan. 2 so there was about 7" of ice on the lake.
