Here is my dilemma: Our school many years ago had a 313kVA, 250kW 60Hz generator with a 3406B engine that was running in the summer unsupervised with no cooling water and melted. Fast forward a few years they replaced the engine with a 3406E with a truck ECM. Our problem is that the engine will not hold 1800rpm because of the type of governor in the ECM. Michigan Cat is willing to flash our ECM, but they need an Arrangement Number, and an Engine Serial Number to help us out. Is there anyone out there with a 3406E non-ACERT engine coupled to a generator that could help me out? It would be much appreciated! Generator Model: SR-4 Serial Number: 5GA03938 Arrangement Number: 5N5063
There is only one 1800rpm 3406E listed and that is a 9NN prefix. There are two possible arrangement numbers; 1348447 or 2353421 but they both have the same flash file; 2017439.
I can't tell you how valuable your information is! Thank you so much!
