This cylinder is from our trucks lift gate . I need to repack it. The cap will spin. But doesn't come off. I found this piece that looks like I should come out. Wanted to ask before I just start yanking on it.
If you turn it counter clockwiselooking at it from the rod end that little steel ring should come right out. yo may have to use a small screwdriver to pry the end of it up to get started but other than that turn it out and then the rod guide should come right off
