hello. my track is snaky and the rubber is deteriorated and the bars in rubber are pulling out. i also broke a banana bar in the front suspension. i will post pics from iphone of that soon. just for reference. not sure why that broke on flat ground! ok. so, i am in the northeast tri state area of georgia. mountains. i can drive 2 hours to pick up a track from atlanta, chattanooga, asheville, greenville, and a little more than 2 hours to knoxville. i cant decide between c bar and straight bar. i dont wanna stress my machine and make turns that are hard. i am gentle on this machine and i SUPER baby it as i am owner operator. i am in steep ground often. mountains. clay and rock and rarely mud. most of the mud i encounter is wet topsoil under leaves after rain on steep ground in the forest. i have had issues with rubber dry rot. tracks that looked new but soon died from deterioration. can we know the "BORN ON DATE" or manufacture date of a rubber track? any certain brands to avoid? i can choose so far from my local YANCEY CAT dealer, heavyquip, rubbertrax, and rubber tracks in ATLANTA. Also, Summit tracks. what price is fair. what brands are good. any tips? money is tight as i am seeing slight recession lately and we are heading into winter. i have to be very careful on price. i really appreciate it.
Ever track I've looked at had a stamp on the manafacture date inside where the number etc are on. Gotta really look for it I recommend Bridgestone brand from central Missouri. cattle man live like there's no tomorrow.
Thank you for the advice. I have gotten prices from my local cat dealer and rubbertraxx.com. Neither can tell me the exact brand name. Rubbertraxx says they have their brand name on them. Summit supply has their own brand name. For some reason the 59 link size for my Loegering system is less available. I also can't decide on tread. Rubbertraxx only has the block tread and c bar option. Summit has the option for straight bar or c bar.
They're all made in China anyway. Only thing I can say is avoid McClaren. Try these folks, typically they pull from several different vendors so they should be able to offer you a good selection at good prices: https://www.track-mart.com
Trek rubber track? Yancey cat quoted me a track 59 link d-pattern for $1125.00 and they want to charge me freight to their own location for an extra $125-150. Someone working they told me they buy rubber tracks from TREK. Wow. Any tips on that? Is that a deal? Seems like an ok deal except the shipping price is odd considering I'm picking it up at their location! Who makes rubber track for TReK?
Paying inbound freight means they're buying it out from a third party so they have to pay freight to get it to their door. Trek is a Korean owned company now, hard to say if they're making their own rubber tracks or buying out from a Chinese manufacturer, or some of each. Rubber tracks are a whore's market and if you're asking for something a bit odd it's likely that forty different outfits will all quote you the very same track sitting in one warehouse somewhere in the US.
