So how is the performance with that fancy cutting system?

  2. #2Top Dog2009-03-16 20:49

It is not as fast as a boom mount brush hog, but you have no clean-up such as brush laying on the ground that would have to be chipped later.

Sure enough, we have been running it for about 3 years now, it does a great job. Just need someone to manufacture and market it.

That cutter looks like it means business. Is it powered off the main rig's hydraulic pump? An additional warning sticker like 'keep hands clear when blades are in motion' would be a nice touch hehe.

My son just purchased this case track skid steer and added the grinder head to it, which is made locally here in ware N.H. it's going to be a big change for me to operate as i'm jumping from a '88 1845c case.

  29. #29IceHole2025-01-05 21:57

I've seen a forestry 299 CAT run one similar Wasn't overly impressed with how it "cleaned". Fairly slow going, lot of sticks and pungies. My $2500 chineese bush hog in a 20yr 75hp Bobcat worked as well, which surprised me.

It doesn't look like you have the Lexan door for the 620B. You will want to get that Lexan door if you don't already have it.

  31. #31fyrwood guy2025-01-18 18:31

yes you are correct it does not have it in the pic , however my son did purchase one and we are waiting for it to arrive. the 620b just arrived today and i had my first try at operating it (no mullcher on) and oh my my it's going to be many moons before i get all the buttons and controls down pat on this little unit !!!

  32. #32KSSS2025-01-25 12:59

Please take the time to read the manual. There is a lot going in those machines, if your not savvy to all the options. You will want to set the fan reversing schedule in the computer as well as control response. I am sure they will address this, but make sure they set the mulcher up for the machine. Assuming you have the enhanced high flow, your making 4100 psi at 40 gpm. You want to make sure the mulcher is set up for that. If you have questions on the machine, post on here or send a PM and I can likely help you out.

  33. #33fyrwood guy2025-01-25 15:36

Thanks for the heads up. my son likes cat controls and i like the 1845 style , so we'll be switching back and forth between the two. control response is a LOT different than 1845 for sure. i 'm planning on having a copy of the manual with me in the cab for easier learning & set up. it's got hi-flo and fan set up was done at dealer after fan swap was made before delivery. guess they have had fan troubles. hope we don't have any. poor way to start eh!

  34. #34KSSS2025-01-28 15:40

Yea I have to have two of them replaced. Hopefully they got it figured out now.

  35. #35CaseFan132025-01-28 19:54

Not sure how tech savvy you may be, but the new Case equipment has a QR code in the cab that you can scan with a smartphone to access operator manuals, control layout, and maintenance chart. On a 620B it should be near the top left of the cab front if you’re sitting in the seat.

  36. #36KSSS2025-01-28 20:07

Yep. I saw it. I read the manual in hand (I have the DL550). I am old school that way.

  37. #37CaseFan132025-01-28 22:26

Not to derail this but you still liking your 550? I love our 620, super productive.

  38. #38KSSS2025-01-29 09:04

Yes, it has really been a game changer.
