how much slack should be in the tracks on this and how do you messure them to see if they are adjusted to correct tension. i know on bobcat track machines and mini hoes how much slack they are suppose to have but on a dozer do you lift it with the blade and then measure of the center idler for correct tension or go buy the look one side looks tight and the other side sags before and after the top roller.
track tenison We keep then with 3/4"-1 1/2" between the top roller and front idler that what the manual says if you are in a lot of mud you can go a little more than a 1 1/2" because that will make them a bit tighter
How to check track tension Here are the instructions from a dozer operators manual. The specs may be different for a NH, but the prodedure is the same.
A new holland dc100 is much smaller but the owners manual states 1 3/8 " .
