I have a new holland L781 skid steer that has the Deutz Air cooled engine that runs extremely rough, and has lots of blow by, i bought it like this earlier this year (cheap) and have not been able to correct this rough running, changed all the filters and checked all the lines for blockage and restrictions and replaced the fuel pump, I do not have the special tools to replace the injection pump. My question is does anyone know of a shop or dealer that sells/rebuilds these F3L912 engines or maybe even a used one, I have found them online and 7K is way out of my price range. or maybe even a replacement engine that can be dropped in fairly easy. Thanks Scamp
Sorry to hear your problem, these F3L912 engines are very common in mining equipment and small equipment. If it is in fact heavy blow bye then yes extremely expensive to repair but there are some used ones out there. Rebuilds will cost close to $10000 but look for a used one as these engines can last 10000 plus hours if tuned up and serviced properly. Hope you find one. Simon
well still looking, and no luck so far on used or rebuilt or anyone that will attempt a rebuild on this engine, no one seems to have all the special tools to work on the fuel system, so the hunt goes on Scamp
Post an add on the internet for someone with rebuild experience. They are a unique engine to rebuild with no timing marks , no injection pump pining holes. no front pulley marks on most of them, but there are people who have done them. If done properly with proper fuel pump timing, cylinder head to piston clearance, and everything torqued up properly it would outlast many machine frames. Simon
There is no really special tools for fuel spilling this motor To adjust pump timing. It is a long explanation however. Have done numerous ones in the past and could explain how if you dont know of any one in the area who knows how. Post mark me and I'll see if I can help.
