new prison hospital being built in stockton,ca..the company i work for got some of the peliminary pipe to go in..this is a 10" sewer main we are working on..between 10-13' deep. i have a engineered drawing for 3/4 to 1 slopes with a 4' vertical but because of a little sandier type ground at the botton i opened the slopes up to near 1-1 and went with a 2-3 foot verticle. the john deere 250 with the 1/2-1 slope bucket did the digging with the kobelco in support

Well yeah, you're the only one on here who uses those buckets and everyone loves to see the pictures of them and your work.

Looks like that funky bucket did a pretty nice job to me. Looks to me that it could be better than a bunch of benches dug with a regular bucket. What is the width at the top and the narrow part? I have dug in some real sandy ground and had to bench it and seems the ground will slide in at the bench. Looks like the long taper is working pretty darn good. Thanks for sharing. I got to take a look again.

its 2 feet wide at the bottom..not sure about the top..it does measure out to a 1/2 to 1 slope ratio
