My brother tried one on the yard, he said it had a smaller than normal cab and that awful jumping problem in the hydraulics when you pull the stick and boom in, I like the blade idea, but the undercarriage looks a little too narrow: http://www.volvo.com/NR/rdonlyres/8...-E43125E763D6/0/22B1003809ECR145C125FINAL.pdf
really does he still use it? how is this machine now? any problems? im looking to buy one
He has been banned for close to 3 years... His brother never bought a 145, but did buy a volvo 290 last year because of the lower fuel consumption.
The Volvo 290 is the best Volvo excavator, Track shoe width is an option with all machines but if they ordered it with narrow track shoes it is for working on hard ground. Volvo machines are really just Volvo powered Samsungs because that is where they are made in Korea. Do yourself a big favour look at Cat ( a little higher priced ) or I would put a Deere / Hitachi up against it any day, I have a customer with an equivelant Komatsu too and he swears it is one of the best small excavators he has ever had. Whenever bying a machine take the parts book and price random parts for it and compare it to other machines even question the dealer about availability of selected parts You WILL be surprised ( engine water pumps 4.7 times the cost of equivelant Cat or other brand ) Price your filters too guaranteed Volvo always the highest. Our 290 is good on fuel but our Volvo EC460B's are not good on fuel and the only reason we still have them is cause we paid 390 grand for them in 2006 and newer ones with less hrs. are going for between 55 and 80 grand. ( they have no resale value so we gotta keep em )
The Volvo is an old Samsung addage is as reputable as calling a CAT a Mitsubishi. And your argument on pricing sounds like your dealer in Canada being greedy as it isn't a universal problem in other markets.
good point. Getting prices an CAT DEERE AND VOLVO ILL KEEP U GUYS POSTED!
