hey guys. im a new guy to the excavating feild.i have a back ground in running farm equipment and strong background in mechanics. i have more then enough training to wrench on this stuff as im a diesel tech for semis. im thinking about attending the AIS school for operating heavy equipment to learn how to build drain feilds and do tile work and bring things to grade from prints. i have experiance of running equipment but i would like to learn how to run them correctly with the gps units to scale things properly. what does it take to get into the union for operatoring. i would like to learn how to do everything from bidding the job to finish work and the process of the job. i have a contractor with a strong backing and equipment sitting around all summer that dont get used except for snow removeal. if i could make a bussiness out of this im sure he would be willing to make a go at it. i would like to learn everything from start to finish to make this a successful career. any words of experiance for a newbie that has the will and want to make it work?? sorry for such along intro but i am curious and dont wanna jump head first into it just yet
