Background: Forklift bought brand new in January 2021, less than 1500 hours on it. Getting an error code on one of my forklifts (Y ALE ESC040ACN36TE082 ), the forks won’t sideshift or tilt. The wrench light is lit up, and the display is reading " 50100 NODE 22 ". I couldn't find much info about that error code so I had a repair company in to get a quote. They said: Their quote was for a little over $5k for an OEM controller, and a little over $2k for a remanufactured controller. That seems like a rather expensive repair for a relatively new machine. Just trying to gain some insight about the following: -What exactly does the error code "50100 NODE 22" indicate? -Is this a common issue with these? -What would have caused the short the repair company diagnosed? -Could this happen again after another 1500 hours? Hoping to get 10,000 hours out of it but don't want to have to do this another 5-6 times. -Could there be a less expensive repair? I don't believe it's the whole controller, as forward-reverse-up-down still work, it's just the functions that are thumb controlled (tilt/sideshift), is there a way to replace just that part of the controller? Or are they all on the same circuit? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, either by me or future generations of befuddled forklifters. Thanks!
