On a lowboy or a trailer that the axles are at the very end is there alot of diffrents in haveing 1 or 2 axles if you can scale the load. I understand that tire wear would suffer if you were hauling the maxes on 1 axle. I built a car trailer years ago and i had 1 axle and no money so i put it were the back axle would go if it had 2 and planed on buying anther later. It worked so good that i built 2 more with single axles. The bigest problem i had with them was people asking why i didnt have 2 axles.
