Old Grumpy Hitachi

I was having trouble with the left track motor labouring, so i started testing relief valve pressures. Tested pressure on the right side first and found pressure on right relief valve bank down 500psi or so so i adjusted it according to the book. I then tried the bottom pump and the reading showed 900 psi?? The relief valve would not adjust on the left side. I tried the functions on the left side and its now worse than before, the track barely turns (when off the ground)and by swing is gone which wasnt like that before.

If you could be more specific about the machine it would help.

You didn't mention if you found metal cuttings in the main or bypass or case drain filters. Also make sure the suction screen in the hydraulic tank is clear. Make sure the hydraulic tank pressurization is working.

We had a ex 120 -3 that had a dodgy travel motor, and for the life of me ( and god knows how many others ) could not fix the dam thing. Had it in bits, pressure tested, tried all the normal and abnormal things, expert checked and nothing. Them some bad gremlins out there folks, X files would of loved the case.
