Has anyone ever used an online auction site for heavy equipment? If so, which one and what was your experience with the auction site?
purplewave, i had decent results and they handled a problem with a non paying bidder verry well. havent tried any of the other ones, im getting ready to send 6 scrapers and a d9 to them for a few weeks. PW covers TX but pirmarily they are local for us kansas/missouri. and thier results are abour 20% better than iron planet or auction time. i havent really bought anything to speak of from PW but i've sold some stuff if that tells you anything lol pj
I have bought from IronPlanet over the last 6 years. I haven't had any problems with any aspect of their process. My purchases range from small to large (EDCO concrete grinder to CAT 330D excavator). Have found some hard to find items for excellent price. The IP people are knowledgeable and can get you to the rep in any state/area for further details on an item. My experience any way.
Ritchie Brothers has been very professional with all of my transactions. I would not shy away from them on the buying end
