I would like to understand the operating cost for equipment (dump trucks) that haul aggregate material. Specifically I'm looking for annual fixed cost (including truck payment, trailer payment, insurance premiums, etc) and annual vairable costs (including fuel, maintenance, repairs, etc). Can anyone provide me either estimates or a name of a source to obtain this info? Thanks

Costs (fixed and variable) are going to change from one owner to the next depending on age of equipment, cost of equipment, experience, area of work, type of work, other types of overhead (garage or office space, employees). Cost and incomes from one side of the country to the other are going to be vastly different. The best thing to do is to spec the type of equipment that you are looking at and start looking through truck trader magazines from your area to get an idea of costs, talk with a lender, insurance co and other O/O's running in your area to get an idea of what its going to cost you and what you could make.
