welcome back! sorry to hear about your father. great video, that 345 looks really sharp.
thanks bud! the 345 runs well ,we got the bugs out of her she goes really good,my boss also just picked up a 324d,so im looking forward to that as well,,
Same here, hope this year is better on you. Nice machine, too.
i had the chance to run a 328dl lcr , about 2 months ago for a couple of days, putting in ductile iron pipe what an awesome machine, it had the power of a 330 and it felt you were operating a 330, but every now and then you if you got that bucket out there you could feel it in your rearend, becasue of not having that extra counter weight, but otherwise no complaints. id like to see some pics of your new "little toy".
No sound!! I gotta hear that sucker roar!!
no problem when i get some pics ill send them your way for sure
thanks!
We have used the 328 LCR on a Sanitary project from 8' to 13'.It is plumbed for a hammer and has a quick coupler.Having the quick coupler is nice for switching the bucket backwards for digging in between boxes and around utilities. We were pulling a 8 x 20 box w/ a 12 x 12 MH box with no problems.Your shop foreman should check the weight ratio on that counter weight. Our 328 w/ the coupler and a 36" bucket would swing that box over side frame and not pull the other side up.We are impressed w/ this machine and have ordered two more It definitely has the power of a 330. Did your company start any new projects ?
like i said i only had the chance to run it for a couple of days, , i know it had a quick coupler on it , cant remeeber if it had been plummed or not, i beleive everything he buys is plummed from factory, though, id like to get back on it it really was a nice machine.i would have liked to get into some deep situations with it though like you mentioned just to see what it would do , but i didnt happen to get that chance. the only job that i know of that we just started is i beleive out in Flordham Park area, the rest of the jobs are either shut down, ( lack of winter/builders dont wanna pay if the houses arent selling) or we do have a couple that were finishing up. im working right now in Mt. Olive, running a Volvo 460 blc , were putting in 36" rcp. we'll prolly wrap up in the next week, then off to putting in ductile iron pipe. then im not really sure where ill be next. i beleive there was talk of a job starting up, somewhere up near High Point, i believe up near where Pa, Nj and NY come together.
How do you like the 460 b do you think it is competetive with the 345 c. Thanks
I havent gotten a chance yet to run a brand new 345cl yet. prolly this summer i can give ya better answer, maybe somebody else can give me a hand here, if they have ran both recentlly. i did however run a 345bl about 3 years ago. i ve been on a different couple of volvos primarly 330's and needless to say when i found out i was running this 460 i was kinda depressed, im not a big fan at all, i think there very unbalanced, seem sluggish and i dont think there very responsive, could be that that they run at lower rpms then a cat, and most of all i think there cheaply made. but needless to say ive been running this 460 for about 2 weeks nows and its starting to grow on me, how it compares to a new 345 im not sure but its not bad, its still not a cat or a deere, but like i said its growing on me
sorry cant comment on the 450 but as far as the 345 goes its a very nice machine very strong and really good on fuel,i was working in the fields last summer we were digging at 32 feet and at one point we had to assemble a small pumping station the base was 12 tons the the sections were 8 tons she lifted it well for 12 tons once the heavy lift mode is on she goes good the only dislike i have is that my boss got the cab fully loaded with all the toys inside not that use most of them but after all that was said and done the arm rests are hard plastic and i tell ya my elbows are killing me,im not excpecting a lazy boy chair but i would of thought at least some padding ,, cause you know after 11 ,,12 hours everyday in the seat your elbows get nice and red,,but it is a very good machine,,
