Painting 1/50 scale die cast construction models

Hello, I am new on this forum. Has anyone tried painting their models? Syncrude color scheme? Kokosing? Please explain the steps. Thank You! Michael

    Sandblast then you can paint

    I don't think I can do that in my apartment. can I just rough sand using sandpaper. I was told these models are spray painted. where do I buy the paint? what tools do I need to take apart the models?
