Alright these first set of pics are from a property that we spent over a year on, we ended up doing way more than just excavating, lots of planting actually over half a million dollars worth of plants went into this 3 acre property it was insane. We also overlooked allot of the hard landscaping that happened on the property like the sport court, putting green, pond, driveway and all the paths. when we started excavating for the sport court we found a very soft spot dug it out and found an old well that was back filled with....well garbage mostly bottles, after we installed a liner in the well so we could drain the water the liner filled up in about an hour we tried to talk the home owners into using this water for irrigation but they didn't want the hassle.

  4. #4pickles2011-01-01 18:49

So after we had that all taken care of we had a company come in to build the sport court and we did all the back filling and planting around it

  5. #5pickles2011-01-01 18:54

this is the path going from the pond to the sport court and the planting below the sport court

  6. #6pickles2011-01-01 19:10

next was the water front fire pit and putting green again had a company install the artificial turf

  7. #7pickles2011-01-01 19:13

    and fire pit

Wow those are some amazing projects, you guys must be working for Keith Richards or Mick Jagger. lol How do you like that Kubota dumper and that KX-41?

  15. #15pickles2011-01-02 01:38

Hey thanks 245dlc!! both the machines are really good the kubota dumper is a very handy machine great for those tight areas and the three way dump is a great feature! as for the KX41...never an issue

  16. #16pickles2011-01-02 02:04

Here is a man made lake that we where hired to drain and dig both deeper and wider and i may have got a little stuck.....

  17. #17nedly052011-01-02 07:16

Nice looking work there, how do you like that 080 and 121?

  18. #18245dlc2011-01-02 13:14

Lol, gotta love working in slop. Friend of mine was building a ice road into his fire wood tract and broke through and sank his skidder, till the tire had only two inches sticking out. My fiancee and I went to Vancouver for my first time this past fall next time I go west I'm going right to Vancouver Island. It was quite the thing to see whole pears growing in somebody's front yard and palm trees in downtown Vancouver and still be in Canada. lol

  19. #19pickles2011-01-02 18:23

The KX121 is a great machine, traded a KX91 in for it, the 91 was having issues but so far no issues with the 121 and the KX080 is a really nice machine have only had it for a couple months so cant really tell ya how great it is but if its anything like all the other Kubota products I'm sure it will turn out to be an excellent machine!

  20. #20pickles2011-01-02 18:25

245dlc you should definitely hit the island its a gorgeous place...just wish we would get some damn snow!

  21. #21245dlc2011-01-02 21:56

Oh you can have ours. I'd love to have a brown winter. lol

  22. #22pickles2011-05-29 16:27

Hey Guys, haven't posted in a while... buddy that i work with just picked this beauty up first one on Vancouver Island Kubota SVL90 this thing is a tank and a huge step up from the bobcat s130 will post some work pics of it soon!!

  23. #23245dlc2011-05-30 11:20

Tracks are pretty much the only way to go. The only guys with skid-steers that make any money are the ones with tracks. Those new Kubota are very sharp looking machines hope it works out for you.

  24. #24dayexco2011-05-30 20:09

that pvc going into the ground, with the wye put on it....what's that for? is that the well you were talking about? why you wyed into it? don't most DENR's require you abandon old wells with concrete of bentonite? or am i missing something there? here, you'd NEVER be allowed to take surface water, or water from another aquifer, and inject it into another. nice equipment tho.

  25. #25pickles2011-05-30 23:50

well when we first started work on the property we noticed the ground was very wet, then when we excavated for the sport court we came across that well and as we scraped the surface around it water was just pouring out onto the clay, so we dug all the fill out of it about 15' down and by that time it was time to pack up so we left for the day came back the next morning and it was full to the top of the well and water was running down over the clay. So we called in a geotech to see what we should do about it and he recommended because the well filled up so fast and was over flowing that we place that pipe in the center fill around it with sand and then run a pipe down to the beach so the water could escape without saturating the entire property.

Have you had any issues with the SVL 90?

  33. #33pickles2011-08-21 12:15

Hey RCTech9 we have around 100 hours on it and not one issue! The machine is incredible lots of power, great lifting capacity overall a great machine it could easily handle a larger bucket but why move more material faster and get paid less...haha we also have a new attachment coming sometime this week I'll post pics when it arrives!

  34. #34pickles2011-08-21 12:20

  45. #45245dlc2011-12-18 22:39

Yeah that's what I'm using though I wish I had gotten that new one with the display like a regular digital camera. One thing about them though is that they ship via Fedex and when it arrives you have to pay duty I don't understand why they can't ship by regular mail.
