can you replace the travel motor shaft without completely tearing down the final drive

    The output shaft from the motor which is the input shaft into the gearbox OR the actual motor shaft the piston barrel rides on?

    i took the planetary cover off removed the center gear then a coupler the shaft at the other end of the coupler was stripped

    If those splines are worn down even if you buy a new one it will not be 100% because the motor shaft has female splines and the loose ones will have worn those down. It may get you buy though. It is not a hard part to make. I do not know what the price for a Komatsu part is but I believe something could be made or about $5-600
