We had 5 events, The Bobcat event you had to pick all the basketballs off the cones and put them in the hoop. The Volvo Excavator you had to pick the pipes up with the chain and hook and put them in bigger pipes that they just fit in. Then there was the classic egg and spoon on the Cat backhoe. The JD backhoe you had to get the 2 softballs on strings in the cups on the ground, one was longer than the other so you had to get the longer one in and swing just right to get the short length in the other cup. And the last event with the Case excavator you had to pick the soccer balls off the cones and put them in a garbage can.
More Rodeo Pics A few more. Most of these competitors were from Vo-Tech or Boces schools from NY and PA.
Last Pics, You can see how bad the skidsteer event got tore up from all the rain we had friday and friday night.
Gee you guys state side have all the fun, mention to an insurance company that you wanted to do some thing like that here and they would run a mile or the rates would be higher than Iceland's national debt.Hope you all had a good day out though!
Good to see hawbaker sponsoring something like this. They have a good safety program. Looks like fun.
Yes it was a good time, I won 1st in the excavator soccer ball event and 2nd in the backhoe softball event.
Cool cool. When I was there we were still doing the rodeo in the parking lot.
ditto... ahh memories. Guess they moved it cause too many of the HS kids were digging up the parking lot. You guys do it in the fall now?
D155, how long have you been in Binghamton? I grew up in Endicott. Do you work for one of the companies around town?
Yeah, its in the field now because of some of the events we started to offer needed more room to run. We were gonna have a wheel loader event and something with a tracked skidsteer with a blade but cancelled due to all the rain. I forget the whole reason about y we do it in the fall now.
Woodee, I work at Anderson Equipment(the old Rupp) on East Franklin in Endicott. I actually grew up in Sayre.
