A friend has a ASV RC-100 with what should be a Perkins 1104C-44T engine. It runs rough and no power. We removed the air filters and the muffler pipe and fired it up. It has a lot of blow by out of the valve cover cap where you fill it with oil. Could he be lucky and just have a blown head gasket or is the engine toast? Unknown hours and the machine looks to be run hard and put away wet. What do you CAT people think? I am not around these engines. If this was a Deere 619 engine, I could tell him what was wrong.
Common issues with Chinese built engines the oil pump some used aluminum housing failed or the oil pickup tube broke from use 3rd was pickup tube o'ring failed letting suck air lose suction.Drop the pan 2000's Cat had a lot of died Perkins skidsteers from losing oil pressure.good luck
