Can some one point me to a link where I can find radiator removal procedures? Need to replace it head and turbo. Thanks Dan
What kind of machine are you working on, case/cat/deere/ih and what series would help. We need this to give you the best thoughts and answers.
radiator Ooppss sorry, it's a Cat 955 Traxcavator not sure where to find the serial info or year
Radiator YYIIPPE rad is out. Where can I find the engine info? Looked all over this old beast cannot find engine spec plate or any numbers to reference year. THANKS.
the main plate is on the rear of the machine just below the left access plate and there shoul be a plate on the left side rear of the engine block right above the pony motor pinion box.
If the plate on the rear is torn off, clean up the paint between the rivets. The serial number will be stamped into the rear housing also.
Havent seen pony motor. I believe this has direct start. Owner used auto batt to start.
The pony motor can have a 12 volt starter. can you get pics?
The 955 would have been available in either pony with 12 volt starter on it, or with 24 volt direct electric start depending on how it ws speced. Don't believe they came from the factory with a 12 volt main engine starter but I could be wrong.
I have seen people convert them to direct electric start... but can't remember if it was a 12 or the stock 24volt.
He said he used 2 batts. Probably is 24. May see him this evening.
Got serial numbers. Thanks for all the replies. Ok we did find the serial plates. One is H model 60A 7752 the other unit is H model 60A 4864. Any idea on the years? Also there is no pony motor.
60A4864 build year 1961 60A 7752 build year 1964
Pictures would be very helpful, left side, right side and OPERATORS STATION showing controls.
Can get picts tomorrow.
