I have to replace the bearings, pins and associated parts on a komatsu 78 excavator for the 4 pins that connect the stick, hyd cylinder and quick coupler. I was wondering if there are any tricks or things to watch out for, I imagine changing the parts is just a matter of cleaning the grease off then punching them out and hammering the new ones in nice and straight. any suggestions are appreciated.
Weld a few beads the length of the bushing, let it cool completely, it will come out easy. Press the new one in with shop press or portapower, a hollow cylinder and threaded rod seems to be the way to go, but if you had a hollow cylinder you wouldn't be asking.
