Review Machinery Index File?

IIIVIP ยท 2018-12-19 18:35

Hello, Can you please review the attached PDF and let me know if you like the way all the machinery is separated and categorized, or suggest a better way to separate and categorize the different types of machinery. This list will be used for a drop down selection list on a website where users can post items and products on a free magazine. Everything in the red font represents popular machinery types that are most heavily pursued. They are at the top for easy access. Everything in black bold font represents a category, everything underneath represents a sub category. Is there machinery types I am missing? Would you change any of the names to a more common name? Thanks In Advance!

Suggest you add "Excavators - Midi" , which are in the 7 to 15 ton range.

We have a Mini excavator. What is the difference between Midi and Mini?

Mini's are smaller, i.e., less than about 7 tons.

Agree with SW. In shopping for an 8 ton range, you have to sort through a bunch of the minis. Much handier to split them out.

You need trucks/articulated and trucks/rigid frame instead of articulated/yuke/rigid frame. Magnetic in the logging category needs to be moved to recycling. Tanks need to have subcategories, fuel, lubricants, water. Tach trucks would usually be in the asphalt category.

This looks very similar to what Ritchie Bros. lists when looking up equipment at their auctions. Some categories need to be broken down further. Is the list for equipment that is being auctioned off? Might want to check if there's any copyright involved with Ritchie Bros.
