Ride control

Rogerdoger · 2021-12-18 11:02

2008 420ct series 3 with HControls. On the right hand control I see the button for ride control but not sure that it is doing anything. Is there some notification or light letting me know it’s on or off?

If my memory serves me here, when you press and hold the button the ride control is activated. When you let off the button it is deactivated. It's a bit of a pain that one has to continue to hold the button down for it to work. I can't remember if there is a switch that you have to activate first before you can do it. When working it's noticeable. You can see and feel the difference.

There is no light telling you it is activated. If you pull the boom up off the frame by about a foot with a load of dirt in the bucket, hold the button, you will see the boom settle a bit. If you drive forward over rough ground you will see the loader arms moving up and down somewhat free from the movement of the loader. I have always liked the push button activation over being on all the time or only kicking on at a certain speed.
