Running Skid Steer on flat tire

longislandcat ยท 2015-02-07 15:48

I drove my caterpillar skid steer 3 blocks from where I am to clear a persons driveway of snow . While I was there the back tire partially popped off the rim. I drove the machine home like that. Could this have done any damage to machine other then the rim or tire such as the gears.

    It should be fine.

You may have gotten away with no damage at all, or isolated to the tire and rim. I had a similar thing happen to my skid steer while clearing snow, I wasn't aware the tire had gone flat. Tore the bead of the tire up enough to where it wouldn't seal, I had a tube installed and it works fine.
