Slow hydraulics. Bobcat E42

OTG AuGres · 2018-06-23 08:22

As stated, overall slow hydraulics on my E42. It’s only got 106 hours on the clock. Perfect one day, slow upon startup the next. Bucket curl is very slow. Track speed acceleration takes 15-20 feet...used to be almost instantaneous. Once traveling, seems fine and will run ok in high speed as well. Currently at the dealer, but they are baffled. They are contacting factory for support, but I’m just looking for some outside knowledge. According to them, they checked and readjusted pressure on all the pumps. Not a mechanic here, but I’d say it’s a flow, not pressure problem. All functions work and seem to have normal power, just slow. My extendable boom, which works on the aux circuit seems to operate at normal speed. Oil level is in the lower “green zone” of the sight glass. Hydraulic oil apprears clear and clean in sight glass. Hydraulic filter was changed at 50 hours. My sales guy, who is very knowledgeable in construction equipment spent quite a bit of time in the cab and concurs that there is a problem. Service manager at my dealer is nice guy and wants to help, but he’s from an automotive background and appears to not know much about construction equipment. Must have hired for his management and people skills...hmmm Ideas? Thanks!

Thanks, I’ll pass that on to dealer.

FYI..got her fixed and back today. Service manager was vague or maybe just uninformed about what was done. Complete pressure adjustment of whole system...whatever that means. Bottom line, very fast and very responsive. Maybe better than it ever was...and all covered by warranty..better yet.

Yeah they probably adjusted the margin pressure and maybe the reducing valve for the pilot pressure
