Smoking

Have a 1998 case 445 series 3 that smokes a lot. Cold or hot at idle or full throttle don't matter. Back of machine is black! Smoke coming out is white/ grey. Would this be injectors?

You mean you have a 2008 machine? Its probably safe to say that the exhaust is getting in the cab, and it burns your eyes as well. The 445 series 3 had timing issues. Its most likely your ksb sender failed. This is the temp sender that retards your timing when hot. You can try and jump it, and see if the smoke gets any better. If it doesn't, then I would recommend getting your timing advanced at your dealer. It takes some special tooling, to measure the pre-lift in the back of the injection pump with a dial indicator. The ksb sender is near the injection pump, a 2 wire sender that goes into the block, with one wire going to the injection pump advance solenoid. If your injection pump mounting bolts are slotted, then you can turn the injection pump towards the engine slightly (and I mean very slightly) and that will advance your timing. The engine will run fine with the timing over advanced. You may be able to advance the timing even without the injection pump being slotted, but you will not gain much.
